Do you know how our football field got its name?

In the spring of 1971, Mr. Grey Cobb, Jr., the father of two Lamar students, built our football field. In the fall his son, Grey Cobb, III was a junior on Lamar’s first football team.
Although many volunteers helped in the construction of our football field, it was Mr. Cobb’s company, Cobb Brothers Construction who did all the dirt work at no cost to Lamar.
Mr. Cobb died suddenly in March of 1975 when his youngest son Michael was a sophomore at Lamar. In the fall of 1976, the field was dedicated Grey Cobb Field.

Sportsmanship Creed
The MPSA recognizes that the spirit of the game of football lives in skilled offense, effective defense, and a well-planned strategy. The spirit of this game cannot be maintained unless sportsmanship, ethics and integrity are our number one priority. Good sportsmanship will be expected from all groups associated with MPSA activities.
