Drum Line

The Lamar School "Raider Rhythm Drum Line" is open to all middle and high schoolers. The drum line, playing cymbals, bass drums, snare drums, and tenor drums, performs at pep rallies and football games as well as other special events.   

The drum line is an exceptional opportunity for students wanting to learn how to read music/play an instrument, and it also provides opportunities for student leadership. Experienced and newer members learn to collaborate while older students offer guidance by teaching younger students about their instruments. The position of assistant coach, a student who helps lead practices and works with new members on more challenging songs, is chosen from among the most experienced/responsible members.
