Lamar's 1:1 Apple Initiative was launched in 2014 to provide students with technology as a tool for success. Each high school student receives a MacBook Air to be used in the classroom and at home for educational purposes. Middle schoolers are participating in computer classes and in the STEM lab, using laptops as they create projects. Ipads are incorporated in our elementary classes. Teachers are using computer technology for instruction, assignments, projects, research, and assessment. Our goal is to prepare students for the 21st century and engage them in critical thinking, collabaration, and communication using the latest technology. The 1:1 program will be expanded each year to incorporate more grades.
