Lamar School’s Engineering Students Test Robots at MCC

Lamar School’s engineering class received a grant from the Meridian Navy League to purchase Sea Perch kits. According to the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) website, Sea Perch is a hands-on project-based engineering program that allows students to build their own remotely operated underwater vehicle, called Sea Perch.

Meridian Community College opened their swimming pool for Lamar’s Sea Perch robots. “We’re so thankful for MCC allowing us to use their pool so we can put these robots to the test,” said Phyllis Skipper, engineering teacher and Raider Robotics coach.
