Student Spotlight: Ann Revere Davis

Student Council President Shares Her Vision for the Year Ahead

Lamar Senior Ann Revere Davis is no stranger to leadership. As this year’s High School Student Council President, she brings years of experience and a deep love for her school community to the role.

“I’ve been involved in Student Council since middle school,” Ann Revere shares. “I’ve served as freshman class president, sophomore representative, and vice president last year. I’ve always enjoyed planning things and helping everyone have fun.”

That enthusiasm is already shining through as the Student Council prepares for a busy fall semester filled with Homecoming, dances, and new ideas to boost school spirit.

Building Community & Encouraging Participation

Ann Revere’s vision for the school year is rooted in unity and participation. “I want everyone to feel excited about getting involved—whether it’s dressing up for Homecoming or coming to dances. We’re even planning to add a few fun spring events for all students.”

One of the most exciting ideas? A high school field day modeled after the beloved Olympic Day in elementary school. “We think it would be a fun new tradition and a way to bring the grades together,” she says.

To help strengthen communication and engagement, the Student Council has set up class GroupMe chats so students can stay informed and share ideas.

Leading With Friendship and Inclusion

When asked about her leadership style, Ann Revere emphasizes teamwork and communication. “We’re all friends on Student Council, and I think that makes it easy to collaborate. I try to include everyone’s input and make sure everyone feels involved.”

She credits Lamar's close-knit environment and dedicated faculty for shaping her leadership skills. “Mrs. Dye, our high school principal, is a great example. She really wants everyone to enjoy school. She planned an amazing Senior Summit for us—we watched Ferris Bueller’s Day Off on the football field, played games, had great snacks, and the ice cream truck came. It was so much fun.”

A Bittersweet Senior Year

As she begins her final year at Lamar, Ann Revere is savoring every moment. “It’s exciting but also bittersweet,” she admits. “We’ve grown so close as a class. I’m proud of how involved we all are—in sports, clubs, and activities. That’s one of the things I love most about Lamar—it’s small enough that everyone can find a place to belong.”

Among her favorite memories are Homecoming traditions and the unforgettable junior class trip to Boston. “That trip really pulled our grade together. We’ve been great friends ever since.”

So what can students expect this year? “Some fun surprises!” Ann Revere says with a smile. “Our journalism class is also brainstorming ways to get the whole student body more involved, so stay tuned!”
